Activate now: free OTA service for TCU updates - for optimal data quality without a workshop visit
The quality of vehicle data largely depends on the status of the Technical Control Unit (TCU). It is therefore important that customers and partners of our fleet interfaces activate the free "over the air" update service from Mercedes-Benz (OTA).
Why TCU activation matters.
Why is activation so important?
Outdated TCUs can lead to issues in data transmission of our products, for example due to incorrect or inconsistent transmission behavior of not rolled out software bug fixes. To prevent this and to be able to use our data products reliably and efficiently, we recommend activating the OTA service for each of your fleet vehicles.
Similar to a smartphone:
Regular updates also ensure that apps work smoothly. In the same way, OTA updates keep the TCU up to date.

Activation process.
This is how easy it is to activate the service:
With the existing access rights, customers can easily activate the OTA service (Service ID: 3001) via our connect your fleet and connect your business interfaces.
As soon as a new TCU update is made available, drivers simply have to agree to the download. Everything else runs automatically in the background.
