Mercedes-Benz Connectivity Services is expanding its product portfolio for brand-independent use of its digital services. The "connect business GENIUS" offers not only the usage of GPS data, but also the possibility to raise diagnostic, consumption and condition data.

Stuttgart. With the "connect business GENIUS" hardware, which can be retrofitted, fleet managers can use telematics services for all brands. The retrofit solution is permanently installed in the vehicle. For the first time, dynamic vehicle data such as consumption and mileage supplement the location services already offered. Real-time mileage and diagnostic data can be used, for example, to plan maintenance work in advance and reduce downtimes - a high savings potential for the fleet. The "Vehicle Logistics" service also enables efficient deployment and order management through active vehicle tracking in conjunction with automatic area monitoring, so-called "geofencing".
TÜV tested.
The hardware has been tested by TÜV NORD for compliance with the ISO relevant standards. This ensures a high level of vehicle safety and data quality. Intelligent algorithms enable the continuous expansion of the available data for more and more vehicle brands and models. Thanks to the 4G/LTE modem, connectivity is guaranteed for many years even after the previously announced dismantling of the 3G network.
The installation of the hardware is carried out by installation partners from Mercedes-Benz Connectivity Services GmbH on a date requested by the customer on site. When changing vehicles, the hardware can be reused for new vehicles.
The multi-brand solution is initially available in Germany.
