We are thrilled to announce that the innovative data product „Electric Vehicle Status 3.0“, jointly developed with our Mercedes-Benz AG colleagues, has won the 2023 API Awards in the Best in Enterprise APIs category. The 2023 API Awards celebrate the incredible technical innovation, adoption and reception in the API & Microservices industries and use by a global developer community. They were recently presented at the 2023 API Awards Ceremony during API World 2023, an API & microservices conference & expo.

About Electric Vehicle Status 3.0.
The product enables customers to access all relevant meta data on a driver’s charging behavior and thus provides the perfect smart charging experience for individual Mercedes-Benz battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The API addresses energy providers that aspire to gather strategic information about energy consumption to individualize their offer to Mercedes-Benz drivers. On the one hand, business customers can access various data points such as state of charge, electrical range, geolocation, status of current charging session, projected end of charging session or charging power. On the other hand, the charging procedure can be controlled by sending commands to start and stop charging. With the product customers have all relevant charging related data and remote-control functions at hand to offer high value business use cases like home charging, energy load management, and many more charging behavior cases. The data is updated as soon as it changes and is pushed to the customer to enable near real-time solutions. Data protection is a high priority for us and the responsible handling of data is a prerequisite for our work.
